On Christmas Eve, my wife and I were supposed to go to church with her family and friends of my mother-in-law. Except for weddings, I haven’t been to a church in almost 10 years. The prospect was very intimidating. 

When my wife announced there was only a half hour before services were to begin, my mother-in-law’s friend declared quite matter-of-factly, “Well, we either get up and go, or we stay put!”

The woman, a churchgoing woman in her seventies, pulled out a Mr. Bean DVD, and we watched that instead.

Now THAT’S a Christmas miracle.
